Já existem movimentações com vista a preparar a realização de um excelente evento cultural este ano, para coincidir com o 210.º Aniversário da Batalha do Bussaco!
Sem haver ainda uma confirmação definitiva, estão a ser desenvolvidos esforços a vários níveis com vista a colocar, pela primeira vez, os elementos de cavalaria na linha da frente de uma, ainda eventual, recriação histórica da Batalha do Bussaco, com vista à evocação do percurso seguido pelo Exército Imperial Francês após o termo do Cerco de Almeida (que cessou em 28 de agosto de 1810), em perseguição ao Exército Luso-inglês, que culminou na batalha realizada no dia 27 de setembro de 1810.
A novidade reside no facto de existir um projeto no sentido de esse percurso ser recriado apenas por destacamentos histórico-militares de unidades de cavalaria, cuja chegada ao Bussaco seria organizada de molde a coincidir com o início da cerimónia formal evocativa desta batalha, que todos os anos é realizada na manhã do dia 27 de setembro, junto ao Monumento.
Nesta medida, os valentes soldados de cavalaria que se preparem, pois podem ser chamados a percorrer as montanhas e os vales do Centro de Portugal no próximo mês de setembro, evocando o caminho que foi percorrido pelos nossos antepassados e que culminou na histórica e memorável Batalha do Bussaco!

There are wheels already in motion, in order to ensure an exciting cultural event this year, to coincide with the 210th Anniversary of the Battle do Bussaco!
With no confirmation yet garanteed, there is an ongoing project that is planning to place the cavalry in the forefront of a possible reenactment of this year Anniversary of the Battle of Bussaco, with the reenactment of the trail followed by the French Imperial Army, during its pursuit of the Allied Army through Portuguese territory, after the end of the Siege of Almeida (that ended on the 28th of August 1810) and until the battle that occured on the 27th September 1810.
The novelty is that there is a plan for the reenactment of this trail to be made only by detachments of historic cavalry units, with their arrival in Bussaco to coincide with the beginning of the formal evocative cerimony, scheduled for the morning of the 27th September, on the spot of the existing monument.
Therefore, the cavalry troopers out there must prepare themselves, because a call can be sent out for them to ride through the mountains and valleys of the Center of Portugal, reenacting and recalling the trail followed by our ancestors, that culminated in the historic and memorable Battle of Bussaco!
